INNERLEITHEN WINTER SERIES # 2

Neil and Scoob returned for race two of the Winter Series, this time joined by Langholm exile, Mark Bell (AKA Pussy, AKA H). Pictured also are non Langholmites (but all round good eggs) 'Baldy' Mark and 'Flash'. They got better weather than race one and reported that the track was less physically tiring but did include a bottom section that was "a right bugger".

whinlatter

It's what Monday's are for. Neither Craig or myself were in work so we took off to Whinlatter, bikes and small hangovers in tow. It's a fantastic track, OK, it's got some big old climbs but the singletrack flows so well that it always feels worth every turn of the crank. We'll be back.

The video footage was poor for three reasons.
1 - I gave the camera a go on the stem, as a result it's pointing too high.
2 - I put the camera on upside down and had to mirror the footage. DOH!
3 - The camera was with me.

Put together from a days worth of helmet camera footage. Good times.

together at last

As this is the first time my demo has been in one piece since about October this, me and Neil were happy to realise, was the first time the two Demos were together. It was a feeling akin to two friends introducing their young children for the first time. I think.

winter series - race one

The first of this years winter series races at Innerleithen was also Scoob's first race, ever. It rained non stop but as Innerleithen grips like a real 'un in the wet, it was all good. The next race is in March and now that Scoob has the first race under his belt he'll be chasing the win.

night ride / ice ride = nice ride?

Me an ol' Nelly boy took a trip across to The Holm last night. Two things worthy of note - One, ice, about a third of the track was solid, inches thick ice and we had to shuffle around in slow motion. Two, unfit, after weeks of minimal riding because of snow and ice my legs were burning after short climbs and the short track felt like a day ride. Not good.

New member

The latest member of the Langholm bikers, Dave "Fozz" Forster. Hope he doesn't mind us posting his vid on here, he's not been biking long so we're taking bets on when he'll fork out for a big boys bike.

Ok, the snow is getting boring now. Please #*!? off!

Is it possible to take a self timed photo of yourself without looking like a tool? I'll keep trying despite my lack of success.

First ride of the year

Another year when the traditional 1st of January ride didn't happen, this year due to an infection in and around Paul's chesticles. We managed to get out on the 3rd and here we are.
Idea -
Wouldn't it be smashing if the self timer camera option sent your camera a half mile down the road where it would take a low angle, exciting shot of you flying past, leaving grit and dirt exploding in your wake; rather than these posed images that are almost Victorian in their lack of motion. Might help if we smiled but I think we're too busy holding the guts in - or trying in any case.
